Grand Point Fishing Club Tournament Rules

1. All local, state, and federal laws will be obeyed.  (This includes having Boater Safety Certificate if required by Law)

2. All members are required to wear Coast Guard approved life vest when big engine is running and boat is on plane during tournament hours.

3. Club fishing will be held the 2nd and 3rd Saturday of each month. If an act of nature prevents either week from fishing, the entire tournament is cancelled.

4. Tournament weigh-in will be held at 2:30 p.m. There will be no certain time you and your partner will have to start fishing as long as its after safe light. (Example: If you and your partner get to the selected launch site at 10:00 a.m., you may begin to fish.)

5. Weigh-in limit will be five bass per angler.

6. A weighable tournament fish will be a minimum of twelve inches in length pending State regulations. Any club member can check a fish at the scale. If a fish is attempted to be weighed and it is measured but questioned by another member and the fish measures short, member will lose that fish plus their big fish.  If there is only1 fish, then they will also lose 5 points in lieu of their big fish.

7. Any team late for weigh-in without being broken down or a reason accepted by the club will have 5 points off that tournament. (If your team thinks they have a valid excuse, the club will vote on it at the next meeting.)

8. If for any reason you have no partner to fish with, you may bring someone with you (except for singles tournaments). Only YOUR fish will be weighed.

9. If you are not attending the monthly meeting, you must send word with someone if you are fishing and when. You can also call or send your vote (one vote) for where you choose to fish. These votes will be read after all members present at the meeting are through nominating. If someone is not heard from, it will be assumed that he is NOT fishing. After the initial vote on the launch site, the top two sites will be voted on again to determine the launch site for the tournament.

10. The club will fish 10 tournaments a year.  The club fishes 9 months out of the year (February thru October) and the month of October will consist of 2 tournaments. The best six tournaments for each angler will be used in calculating end-of-year honors.

11. If you back out from the tournament before the tournament date, you are responsible for contacting the President as soon as possible so that your partner can be re-paired if possible.

12. The weigh masters for each tournament date will be the first two names pulled for each week. If you are selected weigh master, you are responsible to contact the Tournament Director (Heath LeBlanc) to obtain the scale for that week.

13. Weigh masters will determine safe light on the tournament morning.

14. (A) End of year honors will be determined by a point system. Points are awarded on an individual basis for each tournament. 1st place- 45 pts, 2nd place- 44 pts,3rd pace- 43 points, etc. A fisherman can also receive five points if they fish a tournament and do not catch a weigh fish. Also, the fisherman catching "Big Bass" for the month will receive one point towards End-of-Year total points. (B) Any tournament or end-of-year ties will be broken as follows: -Most weight caught for the 6 point counting tournaments -Most fish caught for the 6 point counting tournaments -Biggest fish caught - If still even, prizes and money will be split.

15. Grand Point Fishing Club will practice CATCH & RELEASE from February through April. Trophy mounts can be kept.
